Project objectives

This research project seeks to provide valuable data on the Endangered Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphin by using innovative acoustic monitoring technology. It will deploy a coordinated network of multiple acoustic sensors to monitor passing dolphins at key localities within the range of South African Indian Ocean humpback dolphins. Generating detailed information on their habitat use and population density will help fill knowledge gaps and ultimately improve conservation methods for this threatened species.
