Location

Species protected
West African Giraffe Giraffa camelopardalis peralta

Project objectives

This project aims to maintain a stable growth in both giraffe populations and acacia plants, which the giraffes feed on. It hopes to do so by working with government officials, raising awareness among children from rural communities and launching the “One Student, One Acacia” campaign. Through the campaign, each child will be encouraged to plant and maintain an acacia plant around their village in order to slowly restore the giraffe’s habitat over time.

This project is implemented by Contribution à la Gestion des Zones Humides.
