Project objectives

This project aims to protect and manage a population of South-Western Black Rhinos through continuous population monitoring, including aerial surveys and Rhino ear-tagging operations. This particular population in South Africa has been steadily increasing over the years, and is of great importance to the overall conservation of the Black Rhino.

This project is implemented by South African National Parks.

This project is part of the IUCN Save Our Species African Wildlife initiative, which is co-funded by the European Union.
